Here is how I modified the main spar in the cabin area.
I removed 50% of the spar depth and replaced it with 0.060 aluminum sheet bent into a C-channel.
I bent it by hand with angle iron clamped to the work bench and a big rubber mallet.
Lots of sweat, but it came around.
