This was one of the last Russian World War II designs. I like the Russian designs because they were simple and rugged machines, perfect for the average homebuilder.
I've converted the welded tube fuselage to a angle Aluminum, wood bulkhead and Aluminum skin design that can be assembled with very little welding
It will probably end up with a 350 Chevy engine with a power reduction unit.
The design comes from Russian production drawings scaled to 75% and converted to feet & inches. The only major changes in looks will be a slightly oversized canopy. It's a safety issue with me.
So far this is a paper airplane but is a the top of my list for my next project. The aircraft will be 26.5 feet long with a 30 foot wing span.
